Colombia - Huila - Decaf - Espresso
Process Washed
Region Huila
Varietal Castillo, Caturra
Altitude 1400-2000 MASL
Our Colombia decaf comes from the Huila, nestled between the Central and Eastern Andes in the Magdalena Valley. The unique elevation and climate create complex and nuanced flavours, while most producers are smallholder farmers cultivating less than three hectares, ensuring careful attention to every cherry
This coffee is decaffeinated using a sugarcane based ethyl acetate process, a natural and gentle method that preserves the coffee’s character. The beans are first steamed to open their pores then soaked in a solution where caffeine is selectively removed.
Afterward, they are re-steamed to eliminate any trace of the decaffeination agent, leaving the flavours intact
Tasting Notes : Mild dried fruits, caramel sweetness and a mellow complex acidity
